National endowment of the Arts Jazz Master Ellis Marsalis is the patriarch of “America’s First Family of Jazz”, and has been influential in launching the careers of countless jazz musicians including sons, Wynton Marsalis, Branford Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis, and Jason Marsalis. Arguably the most influential jazz educator in the history of the music, he has also played and been featured on the bandstands of the most prestigious music festivals 7 jazz clubs around the world.
Now in a unique partnership with Marshall University ( Huntington, West Virginia, U.S.A.) and The Nu Jazz Agency (New York, NY, U.S.A.) the Marsalis family is teaming up to discover the next great jazz pianist. If you have what it takes, you'll compete live in the inaugural Ellis Marsalis International Jazz Piano Competition in Huntington, West Virginia (U.S.A.) on Friday, June 22 2018 and Saturday, June 23 2018 to claim your share of over $200,000 (USD) in cash and prizes.
Up to 6 finalists will be chosen to compete to receive other special awards and prizes.
