September 9th is the day when music makers around the world celebrate one of the greatest drum machines of all time: the Roland TR-909. To share in this fun, fan-based annual event, metapop and Native Instruments have teamed up to present the 9-09 Day Producer Challenge.

Your challenge: Create a track — that’s no more than three minutes — using the provided 909 sound pack including the kick, the snare, closed hi-hats, open hi-hats, and the rim.

All genres and styles are welcome — and you can add your own sounds, provided you own the copyright. The Native Instruments team will pick the winner with extra points awarded for creativity, musicality and technical skill. Good luck!
