DreamCypher Official Remix Competition

Welcome to the official remix competition for John Rolodex’s percussive drum & bass track “DreamCypher.”

The veteran Canadian beatmaker has made a quality name for himself in the global bass scene with past releases on notable underground labels like Metalheadz, V, Hospital and his own signature imprint, Machinist Music. Now here’s your chance to show him what you can do and get discovered in the process.

“‘DreamCypher' is a deeply personal track, inspired by a reoccurring dream,” he said. “The track borrows elements from a variety of sources including Javanese Gamelan, Kashmiri vocals, Afro-Cuban percussion and a dash of sitar. Heavy 808 subs form the building blocks for a rhythm that’s both unique and infectious.”

“The winning remixes (we’ll release two or three) will show skill and control in their chosen musical style. Reverence to one or two key aspects of the original while incorporating an identifiable personal style are essential.”
